The goal of The Arts facet is to increase and expand art activity. Art is an important foundation to good mental health and fostering healthy connections. Like many other Links chapters throughout the nation, the Azalea City (GA) Chapter partners with: museums, symphonies, arts councils, educational institutes and corporations in support of art programs, with a focus on artists of color.
Azalea City (GA) Programs
Azalea City has a demonstrated history of supporting opportunities for educating minority youth in the arts and presenting and supporting performances by youth and accomplished professional artists in a diversity of disciplines. Some of our recent programming includes:
● The Annual Artisan Showcase
● The Ailey Extension Program at Hollis Innovation Academy
● Jewelry Making at the Covenant House
In addition to these programs, Azalea City is happy to support the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program (TDP). The TDP was spearheaded over 25 years ago by one of Azalea City’s own: Alumna Member, Azira G. Hill. To learn more about the TDP and Azira G. Hill watch Azira Hill / ArtsATL’s Legacy Series.
